Happy New Year from Kappa Delta! Let’s all hope 2021 is better than 2020. I don’t usually do huge resolutions, but recently I’ve started seeing the value of bringing fresh thoughts and goals into the new year.
Last year my New Years Resolution was to floss every day (you should definitely do this if you don’t already!), and I actually stuck with it, so this year I’m going to step up my game.
This year I want to focus on being more present. Especially with everything being on zoom, it’s really easy for me to look at my phone during class, club meetings, chapter (eek!), or a facetime with friends. Not only is it disrespectful to do that, I also miss out on precious time with friends or learning valuable information.
I’m hopeful by being more present, I’ll not only be a better friend, but I’ll also be happier. I am going to set limits on my social media and check myself any time I try to reach for my phone while on zoom.
If you’re thinking of making a New Year’s resolution, I encourage you to choose something that you think will ultimately make you happier! Set up regular facetimes with friends, learn how to bake delicious desserts, compliment yourself every day to increase your confidence, volunteer and give back to your community, and there are many more. Check out KD’s national blog for some more ideas!
Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and happy 2021!
