This fall semester gave way to a new IM season for a bunch of sports. Every semester KD’s put together a few teams because we love to compete in intramural sports. I am currently playing flag football and soccer for KD. I was super excited going into the school year because I didn't participate in intramurals last year but I loved playing sports in high school.
The flag football team is currently 2-0. Last week we played a tough match and won big. The other team had two more players than us and we didn’t have our starting quarterback so we came up with inventive ways to run the ball. In the end we won 28-13 and we’re super proud! That game was a huge success for us and we were crazy excited to see our hard work pay off. From the game I learned that I still can not catch a ball but I am pretty good on defense pulling the other teams flags and blocking passes. I hope to continue to grow my flag football skills and strengthen bonds with my sisters.
It has been a great experience getting to play with some older members of KD who have played IM flag football before. We have members from almost every PC on the team - even the newest PC ‘21 - which I like because it's fun getting to know sisters from other PC’s better. We are hopeful to have our full team back this week because we are playing again tomorrow against the other undefeated team. It is our last game before playoffs but it’s been a fun season so far!
I’m also looking forward to our first soccer game this Thursday and can't wait to compete with more of my KD sisters. Overall I’m so glad I participated in IM’s this year and will definitely continue playing next year. I encourage everyone to give it a shot, even if they have never played before!
